John A. Sabel

John A. Sabel, 73, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026. He was born May 5, 1953 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Albert and Mildred (Schmitz) Sabel.

John was united in marriage to Rose Mary Ketten on October 20, 1973.

John enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially if he could be with his kids and grandkids. He loved a good game of cards and shooting trap.

John is survived by his wife Rose Mary Sabel; children Michelle (Steve) Zimmerman and Michael (Jenni) Sabel; grandchildren Parker, Preston, Everett, and Spencer Zimmerman and Clayton and Vineal Sabel; siblings Edward (Deb) Sabel, Diane Pinkerton, William (Linda) Sabel, and George (Tammy Lefeber) Sabel; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael Sabel.

John’s family invites friends and relatives to a time of visitation on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Zacherl Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Community Church, N6717 Streblow Dr, Fond du Lac, WI 54937 from 11:00 AM until 11:45 AM. A funeral service will take place following the visitation at 12:00 PM. John will be laid to rest privately at St. Charles Cemetery.
