John P. Ziegler

John P.
Ziegler, passed away on October 16, 2017 after a 3 ½ year battle with lung
cancer at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. He was born to Donald F. and
Dixie Lou (Goron) Ziegler on January 24, 1957. He graduated from Goodrich High
School in 1975. On June 30, 1979, he married Donna Borgen.

He worked for
Wisconsin Central and Canadian National Railroad for 30 years. John was a
member of Lakeshore Bow Hunters where he was a board member and range chairman.
He was a member of Isaac Walton League. John loved his family, his grandsons,
hunting, the Packers, the Brewers and the Badgers.

John is
survived by his wife, Donna, his sons Lucas and Jacob (Holley) Ziegler, his
daughter Heather (Jon) Ziegler and his grandchildren Kaleb, Keygan, Breckin and
Onyx, who he adored. He is further survived by his siblings Donald E., Jeff,
Luann (Brian) Brodersen, and Craig (Kim), siblings-in-law Jeff (Traci) Borgen,
Debb (Dave) Fryda, Dave (Sandy) Borgen, Mike (Deb) Borgen, Brenda (Jamie)
Kissinger and Barb (Scott) Sander, father-in-law Dale (Diane) Borgen, as well
as nieces, nephews and many friends.

John was
preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, his brother Brian and his
mother-in-law Mary Ann Borgen.

Visitation
and Services: John’s family will greet relatives and friends at Zacherl Funeral
Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2017 from 11:00
AM to 3:00 PM. A brief memorial service will follow the time of visitation on Saturday
at 3:00 PM. In honor of John and everything he loved, John’s family requests
that you come to the visitation wearing your favorite Packer, Brewer, Badger or
hunting gear and blue jeans. Cremation has taken place.

We met a lot of wonderful people
throughout John’s journey. A special thanks to Dr. Litman, Dr. Kream and Amy
from Aurora in Sheboygan, Dr. Lilly and Carrie, who did what John’s first
oncologist said couldn’t be done. Thank you also to Dr. Jones and his nursing
staff, the Agnesian Cancer Center and Kristi Martin and everyone at the Hospice
Home of Hope. You are all amazing – our Angels on Earth.
