John Phalen Miller

John Phalen Miller peacefully passed with his wife by his side April 1, 2026 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. He was born prematurely on July 29, 1949 in Elgin, IL, an only child of Roy and Anastasia (Phalen) Miller.
John’s love was photography. He was the proud owner of Miller Photographic Service in Fond du Lac. John was also the staff photographer for the Oshkosh Public Museum. He was a competitive rifle shooter, lifetime member and past President of the Van Dyne Sportman’s Club.
On April 7, 1984 John married Christine Schell at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They were to celebrate 42 years of marriage in a few days.
John is survived by his loving wife Chris, dog Spookie, Chris’s family Pamela and David Entringer, Thomas and Toni Schell, David and Linda Schell, Peter Schell, along with many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law Lewis and Beulah Schell and first wife Patricia.
The family would like to thank the staff at Harbor Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation, the wonderful CNAs and nurses of the Hospice Home of Hope for their excellent and compassionate care. Special thanks to hospice angels CNA Steph and RN Lindsy, who were a comfort to John and Chris in his last hours.
Services will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Zacherl Funeral Home is serving the family.
