Joseph Jay White
Joseph Jay White, 76, of Fond du Lac, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 30, 2023 due to complications of heart surgery. He was born May 13, 1946 to the late William and Viola (Henning) White.
Joe married Elizabeth “Betty” Roberts on July 9, 1966 at Community Methodist Church in North Fond du Lac.
Joe graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1964. He worked 42 years on the Railroad, starting on the Soo Line. Joe enjoyed his time with the Fond du Lac Racing Pigeon Club for many years. He served in many rolls such as, treasurer, secretary, etc. He loved spending time playing cards with his family, sheepshead with friends and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joe definitely felt younger than ever by spending his days with his “little girl”, Tommiah Jean.
Joe is survived by his wife, Betty; two children, Brian (Ann) White and Marsha (David Sharpe) White; four grandchildren, Jacob McCullen, Cassandra McCullen, Bryan White and Brandon White; seven great grandchildren, Jordan, Devin, Kennedy, Jayden, Tommiah, Addy and Emmerson; six siblings, Tommy White, Nancy Moore, Shirley (Pete) Flury, Kathy (Charlie) Reehl, Gary (Ginny) White and Mary Hernandez; two brothers-in-law, Ronald (Kathy) Roberts and Gary Roberts; sister-in-law, Carol Roberts; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Viola; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jean White, Jim Moore and Joe Hernandez.
Services: Joe’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, February 6, 2023 for time of visitation from 4:00 to 6:45 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac. A Celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place.
