Josephine “Josie” (Piaskowski) Pfister
Josephine “Josie” (Piaskowski) Pfister, age 89, passed away on December 23, 2024, at Edenbrook of Fond du Lac, WI. She was born March 19, 1935, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Herman and Josephine (Loersch) Piaskowski and was the youngest of eight surviving children. Josie graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1954 and later became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at St. Nicolas Hospital and Sunny Ridge Nursing Center before retiring. She married Carl A. Pfister on January 14, 1956 and later divorced.
Josie was a skilled seamstress, excellent baker and a master canner of fruit and vegetables while raising her family. In her later years she enjoyed crocheting, quilting and watching EWTN. She was an active member of St. Clement’s Catholic Church in Sheboygan where she attended bible studies and distributed communion to those who were home bound. She was also a volunteer with the Self Help Program at Kettle Moraine Correctional Institute for many years.
Josie is survived by her five children: Stefanie Engel (Peter) of Littleton CO; Fran Goodwin (Jerry Bryant) of Amherst, MA; Wendy Kosikowski (Stuart) of Fond du Lac, WI; Maud Wery (Louis) of Sheboygan, WI; Ian Pfister (Sarah Leslie) of Kansas City, MO; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters and one great grandchild.
SERVICES: Josie’s family invites friends and relatives to a time of visitation on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Zacherl Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A Liturgy of the Word will take place following the visitation at 1:00 PM.
