Karine “Kari” Thompson

Karine “Kari” Thompson, of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, passed away on March 31, 2024, at the age of 40, with her husband at her side. She was born on April 25, 1983, in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Kari was an avid crafter who had a passion for horror movies and country music. She was known for her vivid imagination, love of storytelling, bow hunting, and her endless collection of jokes and humorous anecdotes. Kari’s adventurous spirit and infectious laughter made her the life of the party, and she will be dearly missed by many.

Karine attended elementary and middle schools in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. After moving back to Wisconsin, Kari attended Eau Claire Memorial High School, graduating in 2002. She briefly attended Chippewa Valley Technical College, also in Eau Claire.

In her career, Kari worked as an automotive repair technician in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She handled warranty claims for Wilde Automotive in Sarasota, Florida, and also worked at various retail outlets in Florida and Wisconsin. During her free time, Kari enjoyed scuba diving while living in Florida, bow hunting in Wisconsin, and crafting.

Kari is survived by her husband, Michael Thompson, her son, Eli Herreman, her mother, Susan Johnson, her father, Lee Johnson, and her step-mother Laurel Johnson and her mother-in-law, Diane Thompson. Kari is further survived by her siblings, Najib Johnson (Julie Carpenter), Zachary Gramana (Lindsay), Jessica Baker (Todd), and her step-brothers Seth Landry (Annie) Gabriel Landry, and sister-in-law, Darcy Schulenburg as well as nephews Max Johnson, Rex Gramana, and Jackson Baker, and nieces Annie Johnson, Ophelia Baker, Zoë Gramana and Daisy Gramana. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gordon and Edna Chapman, and her paternal grandparents, Amos and Betty Johnson.
