Katherine Ann Polzean
Katherine Ann Polzean, 71, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at her residence in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She was born September 27, 1951, in Fond du lac to the late Francis and Bernie (Harrison) Polzean.
Kathy enjoyed life and everyone who was a part of hers. She enjoyed doing puzzles and coloring. If you mentioned shopping and going for lunch, she would not let you forget it, for that was what she loved to do the most. Kathy had an infectious laugh and would always have some smart comeback to her staff. Kathy enjoyed going to Wisconsin Dells, Brewer Games, Casino outings and hotel stays. She attended day programs throughout her life and met many friends along the way. If she could not remember your name, she was most definitely going to make one up for you and it was going to stick. For her, she would never forget “Ken”. She made sure to love everyone. Kathy was a caregiver at heart. She always wanted to take care of her friends and help out when she was able to. At times she would not take no for an answer. She will be remembered for some of the most difficult times and many great moments. She was loved by anyone who came across her. When family was mentioned, she would light up and talk about the past, she would talk about her brothers, her sister-in-law, and her nieces (even if she could only remember just one of their names, but she knew there were more).
Kathy is survived by her brother, Richard (Dickie) Polzean; nieces, Shari, Jamie, and Sarah; and sister-in-law, Bobbie Jo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her other siblings.
Visitation: Kathy’s visitation will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E Division Street in Fond du Lac. Burial will then take place in Estabrooks Cemetery.
Kathy’s friends and family would like to thank the staff at Dimbaya Home Care for making sure her last months with us were spent well. Creating memories, meeting new friends and forever bonding moments. Her forever favorite person Joelean (Joanie) Hollander who was able to play a big role in Kathy’s life over the years, spoiled her with shopping trips and lunches out. She frequently spoke of her friends at Hands On Day Center, Chris (Nurse) Bass and “Ken”. Former staff and forever friend Michele Laabs, who would always put a smile on her face. Kathy will never be forgotten.
