Kathlyn “Kate” Irene Race

Kathlyn “Kate” Irene Race passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, with her loving husband, Bob, by her side. Kate lived a life centered on family, friendship, creativity, and the simple joys that brought people together. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kate found happiness in life’s special moments — gathering with friends for card club, quilting, and enjoying countless crafting projects that reflected both her creativity and generous spirit. One of her favorite traditions was spending winters in Arizona, where she treasured the warmth, relaxation, and time shared with friends. She also enjoyed fun-filled casino trips with her sister-in-law, afternoons on the golf course, and making memories with friends wherever she went.
Above all else, Kate’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought immense pride and happiness to her life. She cherished every moment spent with them and created memories they will carry forever.
Kate will be remembered as a beloved friend, sister, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose kindness, laughter, and caring nature touched many lives.
In addition to her husband, Bob, Kate is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Joseph) Wasik, her son, Daniel (Elizabeth) Luedtke; her stepchildren, Sarah Race; Benjamin Race; Michelle (Jason) Salow; Samantha (Julian) Race; and Julianna (Jacob) Dahlinger. She is also survived by her siblings, Timothy (Mary) Jenkins, Sharon (Tony) Laird, Carrie (Ronnie) Lennon, Tracy (Michael) Egan, and Cathy (Craig) Handley; along with many cherished grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Kate was preceded in death by her father, Thornton Jenkins; her mother, Avis Joann Griffin; her sister, Patricia Joann Jenkins; her brother, Michael Edward Jenkins, Sr.; and her brother-in-law, James Louis Race.
