Kim Marie Guelig
Kim Marie Guelig, age 32, of the Town of Calumet, died surrounded by those she loved on January 19, 2024. She was born October 23, 1991, daughter of Thomas and Sheryl (Moehn) Kiesner. She married Matthew Guelig on September 25, 2020, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg.
Kim was a Chilton High School graduate, class of 2010. She went on to further her education at UW-Stevens Point and Marian University where she received her Bachelors in Psychology. Shortly following graduation, she began to find her passion working with dementia patients at ManorCare in Fond du Lac. After several fulfilling years working with the elderly, she fulfilled an even greater passion working as a Sexual Assault Crisis Advocate at Safe Haven based in Sheboygan.
Kim was a selfless woman, always prioritizing others ahead of herself. Her devotion to others made her who she was. She loved giving gifts and making donations to those in need. She was a good judge of character and had a strong intuition when it came to reading people. She could always tell if something was wrong and wanted to make it better. She enjoyed working with her hands and never shied away from tackling any project especially the remodeling of her country home. She loved hiking and the outdoors and being near the water or under the stars. Kim was a true farm-girl at heart and had a great love for all four-legged creatures.
Kim found the love of her life, Matthew, in 2017. She knew he was someone special when he took her to see Christmas lights on their very first date. The bond between the two of them was undeniable and they complimented each other very well. She enjoyed their long, deep conversations and soon knew he was the one God made for her. One of their favorite things to do together was vacationing to Door County.
Kim was a very loving, caring aunt to her godchild, Brynleigh. She enjoyed being silly and spending as much quality time as possible with her. Together, they shared a great passion for art. One could easily see that these two shared a very special bond.
Kim fought a long, hard battle against a very rare disease, Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome (SMAS). Her family would like to extend special thanks for the nurses and doctors that cared for her over the past several years, including Calumet County Respite Care, especially nurse Amber.
Kim will be greatly missed, but never forgotten as her love and compassion lives on through each of those that were blessed enough to have had the opportunity to have known her. Her smile and witty personality will live on forever in our hearts.
Kim is survived by her husband, Matt; her two fur babies, Zoey and Sophia; her parents: Thomas and Sheryl (Moehn) Kiesner; a sister: Amy Loose; grandmother: Doris Moehn; her goddaughter: Brynleigh Mae Loose; and in-laws: Michael and Brenda Guelig, Rose Guelig, and Gregory (Ellen) Guelig; and niece Emilia. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Kim was preceded in death by her grandparents: Henry and Alice Kiesner; Arthur Moehn; and Matt’s grandparents: Oscar and Rosaline Guelig, and Joseph and Luella Leitner.
