Leonard “Lenny” Sturtz

Leonard “Lenny” Sturtz, age 86, of Chilton, died on Monday, February 12, 2024 at his home in Chilton.  He was born October 9, 1937 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, son of the late Harry & Evangeline (Lemke) Sturtz. Lenny married Janice M. Johnson on June 25, 1960 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton; she preceded him in death on November 20, 2010.

For over 42 years, Lenny worked for Chilton Metal Products as one of the supervisors until his retirement in 2000.

He was a longtime member of St. Martin Lutheran Church and volunteered many hours at the Shepherd’s Attic and the Salvation Army in Chilton.  He was an avid sports fan, especially following the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Bucks.   He also enjoyed time spent bowling in several leagues and spending time with friends playing cards at each others’ homes.  Lenny especially enjoyed time spent traveling the country with his family, especially his wife, Janice, making many memories along the way.

Lenny was a man with a big heart and a humble personality who treated everyone he met with kindness and a warm smile.  The thing that mattered the most to him was his family.  It meant the world to him to be “big brother”, dad, and above all, he especially loved being a grandfather and took great pride in all of their achievements.

Survivors include his daughter: Debbie (Mike) Klein; a grandchild: Adam Klein and his fiancée, Samantha Poehler; a step grandchild: Brittany (Aaron) Ott; step great-grandchildren: Kennadie & Audrina Ott; his siblings: Harry Sturtz, Shirley Price, Judy Wolf, Jerry (Jane) Sturtz, Marlene (Sky) Frost, Darrell (Jackie) Sturtz, Gary Sturtz; and a brother-in-law: Terry Johnson.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lenny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son: Ronald Sturtz; and his siblings-in-law: Ellie Sturtz, Mel Price & Jay Wolf.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 16, 2024 at St. Martin Lutheran Church (717 Memorial Dr.) in Chilton with Rev.
