Libby Harden
Libby “Korky” Harden, age 81, of Columbus, IN, formerly of Chilton, WI, died on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus, IN. She was born March 8, 1935 in Shawano, daughter of Viola Antone. Libby married Larry Harden on a United States Naval Ship while he served in the United States Navy. Together, they enjoyed taking trips to the casino, and frequently went camping with family and friends in northern Wisconsin where they could also go fishing on the many rivers and flowages in the area. He preceded her in death in 2006.
In her working years, Libby worked as an operator for AT&T in Bloomington, IN for over 30 years when she retired.
Some of Libby’s favorite past times could be rolled up into one evening; she looked forward to times where she could go out to eat, socialize, and meet new people. People she had never met before, quickly appreciated her warm personality and enjoyed the friendship she was able to forge with them.
Survivors include her mother: Viola; her children: Dusty (Nancy) Meyer of Chilton, WI, Joey Harden of Columbus, IN; 5 grandchildren: Josie, Coby, Cory, Chad & Melissa; 4 great grandchildren: Averi, Patrick, Ashlyn & Aydrie; a brother: Charlie Skenadore; a sister-in-law: Janice Harden; a special aunt: Lorraine Antone; and a very dear friend: Frankie Henderschot. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Libby was preceded in death by her husband; and a daughter: Reyanne Harden.
Funeral service will be at 6:00 pm on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Burial will be in the Oneida Sacred Burial Grounds. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Monday, August 1, 2016.
