Lyndoris I Jandrey
Lyndoris I. Jandrey, age 90, of Chilton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Ascension Calumet Hospital in Chilton. She was born December 29, 1932 in the Town of Rantoul, daughter of the late Ruben & Adela (Lerche) Bettner.
In her youth, Lyndoris enjoyed playing softball and basketball and throughout her life bowled in league around the area. Following her graduation from Brillion High School, Lyndoris began working at the Brillion Co-Op, Farmers State Bank in Potter and served as the secretary of the Potter Sanitary District.
On November 12, 1955, she married Normal “Pepper” Jandrey at Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church in Potter where she was actively involved with the Women’s Guild and plied her musical talents singing in the church choir and lending her voice for weddings and funerals. She was a woman of tremendous faith who lived her life in service to her Lord. She had a deep love for her church family and her community where she made a name for herself to be the place to gather for good home cooked meals and pleasant company. Many, many people looked to her for kind words and loving guidance on their own journeys through life.
Lyndoris will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children: Keith (Laurie) Jandrey, Dena Hoffmann, Amy Jandrey; her grandchildren: Tina (Glen) Meier, Tim Jandrey, Carrie Hoffmann, Mackenzie Hoffmann; her sister: Wynogene Schmitting; and her dear friend: Mary Holdorf. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ruben & Adela; Normal’s parents: Edwin & Viola; a son-in-law: Kenneth Hoffmann, Daughter-in-law: Diane Jandrey; her siblings: Gloria (Earl) Brehmer, Viorene Bettner, Rochelle “Shelly” Bettner, Dennis Bettner, Stanford “Butch” Bettner; her siblings-in-law: Judith Bettner, Art Schmitting, Lucinda (Clarence) Koerth, Hildegard (Jerome) Reidy; and her niece Allyna (Brehmer) Reuter.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 am on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church (181 Main St.) in Potter with Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod officiating. Burial will be in the Brillion Community Cemetery. A time of visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 am until 11:15 am on Friday, August 11, 2023.
