Marie B. (Donahue) Woehrer
Marie B. (Donahue) Woehrer, age 91, of Fond du Lac, died Monday June 24, 2024, at St. Agnes Hospital surrounded by her children. She was born on May 16, 1933, in Lomira, the daughter of Ben and Paulina (Gosen) Meis. Marie was raised and attended high school in Lomira. Marie married the father of her 6 children, John Donahue on August 18, 1951. She later married Gene Woehrer on February 9, 2003, who preceded her in death in 2009. Marie was a member of Holy Family Parish and Eagles Aerie #270.
Marie & Gene owned and operated Dr. Joes and the 4 Mile House for many years. She was very loved by most of her patrons and many of them called her “Mom”. She also worked at Petrie’s Restaurant for a number of years. Marie enjoyed playing cards and bingo, where you can most certainly know she was winning. She enjoyed cooking for her family and attending church with her friends. She especially loved spending time with her dog, Lulu. Marie was the heart of her family. She was known for her charismatic and witty personality that left you with a smile on your face and also gained her the title of the “Biggest Brat” which she will forever hold.
Survivors include her loving children, Dale (Mike) Donahue, Linda (Dave) Schell, Chris (Wayne) Blonigen, Glen (Kathy) Donahue, Kelly (Melanie) Donahue, Lee (Diane) Donahue; grandchildren, John (Jamie) Kelley, Joe Kelley, Jennifer (Jeremy) Loesch, Christopher (Jill) Donahue, Missy (Brian) Justman, Jason (Jessi) Donahue, Tiffany (Tyler) Larsen, Tyler (Aubri) Donahue, Nicole (Devan) Faust, Ryan (Tara) Donahue, Tim Donahue; 20 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Donahue; her second husband, Gene Woehrer; two grandsons, Tony Blonigen and Timothy Schell; one great-grandson, Rhett Faust; two sisters, Lucille (Andrew) Kiefer and Dorothy (John) Abler; two brothers, Norman (Bernice) Meis and Henry (Renate) Meis.
Visitation will take place at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 4-7 PM and again at Holy Family Church on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 10-11 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow the service at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
