Marie B. Wellnitz
Marie B. Wellnitz, age 94, of Fond du Lac, died on Monday, November 18, 2024, at her residence. She was born on February 2, 1930, in Chilton, WI, the daughter of Emmenual and Pauline (Casper) Schneider. On May 28, 1952, Marie married Edgar Wellnitz Jr. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1999. Marie worked at Infant Socks, volunteered at the Galloway House, worked at polling stations, and enjoyed babysitting and was a nanny for a Chicago family. She was an avid bowler and traveled to Las Vegas and Reno for bowling. She was a member of Holy Family Parish where she was involved with the Bereavement Group and the Sacred Heart Choir. Marie enjoyed traveling, she went to Yugoslavia twice and also to Jerusalem. Throughout her life she enjoyed roller skating, gardening, canning, and growing and selling vegetables.
Survivors include her children, Thomas (Wendy Pelletier) Wellnitz, Cheryl Wellnitz, Deb (Michael) Clendenning, Terri Krause, Lori (Russ) Hendrix, Tina (Mike) Semotan; nine grandchildren, Gena (Chad) Shoemaker, Tristen Manowski, Nick Dorton, Cody (Stephanie) Dorton, Justin (Tara Donnermeyer) Noe, Trevor (Angelica) Krause, Tyler (Michaela) Hendrix, Hailey (Charlie Pennings) Hendrix, Jayden Semotan; great-grandchildren, Aleecia, Viviona, Braylon, Kolton, Dustin, and Henry; one great-great-grandchild, Honesti; her sisters, Rita Gallitz, Dolly Schneider, Lucy Brunette, Annie (Robert) Guse; sister-in-law, Irene Schneider; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two children before birth; four brothers, Rueben, Servatius, twins Robert (Gerry) and Roger (Margie) Schneider, and Constance (Joyce) Schneider; sisters-in-law, Veronica Deaver and Bernice Huck; brother-in-law, Robert (Betty) Wellnitz.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at the church at 1:00 PM. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
