Marjorie Elizabeth Goelz

Marjorie Elizabeth Goelz died Saturday, June 3, 2023, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin at her home.

Marjorie was born September 28, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Joseph and Kathryn (Huber) Goelz. She graduated from Mount St. Mary’s Academy high school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1947 and earned a Bachelor of Liberal Studies (cum laude) from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1990.

She had an interesting and varied career, working in Boy Scout offices at Last Frontier Council in Oklahoma City, Milwaukee County Council in Milwaukee, and Badger Council in Fond du Lac; Kiekhaefer Aeromarine Motors in Fond du Lac, and Sarasota, Florida; Electro-Mechanical Research in Sarasota, Florida; and the federal government with posts in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Vienna, Austria, and West Berlin, Germany. She was a legal secretary with Rooks, Pitts, Fullagar, and Poust in Chicago. Marjorie also served as Secretary to the Bishop for the Episcopal Diocese of Fond du Lac. She retired in 1999.

Marjorie had many interests in art, geology, botany, and reading. She was a member of the Schoenstatt Movement, Fond du Lac Chapter, Wisconsin Right to Life, and Mid-America Geographic Foundation.

Marjorie is survived by three sisters: Claire G. Hutter of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Barbara Brown of Madison, Wisconsin, and Cecilia (Dave) Reitz of Bellevue, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Kay Conwell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, three brothers-in-law, a nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday June 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Our Risen Savior Catholic Church, Woodhull, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Marjorie will be laid to rest in a private family interment at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mass intentions or the Fond du Lac Chapter of Wisconsin Right to Life.
