Martha M. Geiser
Martha Margaret (Muellenbach) Geiser, at a beautiful age of 96, died peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on Thursday evening June 22, 2017.
She was born on July 15, 1920, daughter of the late Joseph and Regina Muellenbach. She married Clarence Geiser on July 10, 1946 in Charlesburg and shared their lives together for over 64 years. Working side by side, Martha and Clarence ran their dairy farm in the town of Charlestown. Martha was a kind and gentle woman who received great joy in being compassionate and sharing her love to others. Once asked by her grandchild how can she have so much love for all of us, she answered, “I have a big heart”.
Martha was known for her tasty cooking, canning, and baking; Yes, her kitchen was well used. Her baking days included “made from scratch Kuchens” along with homemade breads. Martha was pleased watching her grandchildren smile as they devoured her “best ever” Raspberry Freezer Jam.
Martha’s days were full and sometimes very exhausting. However, in the midst of her busy life, there was always time for her faith in God. Sundays were a day of church and the rest of the week she prayed daily. Martha practiced her Catholic faith with fellow parishioners of Good Shepherd Parish in Chilton. She was a member of the Christian Mothers in her younger years. Towards the end of her life she was unable to attend Sunday mass, but even with Alzheimer’s, Martha could recite her prayers.
