Marvin Fleischman
Marvin Fleischman, 87, passed away on April 14, 2024, at Harbor Haven in Fond du Lac. He was the only child of Joseph and Lorine (Harlin) Fleischman, born on August 21, 1936, in Fond du Lac at St. Agnes Hospital.
Marv attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from St. Mary Springs High School, class of 1954. As a senior in high school, he joined the Naval Reserves. After high school he attended one year at Marquette University. Following Marquette University, he joined the US Army. He was Infantry Division – Gyroscope from 1956 to 1959. He was headquartered – Hg Battery 8th Artillery Division, he was stationed near Munich, Germany.
Marv married Jacqueline Jacques on May 27, 1961, at St. Michael Church in Dotyville. Together their biggest accomplishment in life was raising their five daughters. They enjoyed traveling to France, Italy and Ireland. He had a great ability to make people smile with his Irish wit, humor and storytelling. He had a quiet and peaceful way of being the rock of his family. Marv was employed as a machinist at Mercury Marine for 43 years, retiring on February 28, 2002. He enjoyed his many years doing whatever was asked of him at Pizza Ville and continued to stay active there during his retirement. He was very devoted to the Rosary, saying one for each of his loved ones.
Marv is survived by his five daughters, Ellen (Tim) Boehrig, Nicole (Paul) Riegert, Melody (Todd) Zupke, Raquel (Shawn) Lord and Danette Holub; 12 grandchildren, Dominique, Gabrielle and Bryce Boehrig, Candeth (Robert) Wothe, Alyssa and Daycia Riegert, Nathaniel, Austin and Isaiah Zupke, Nicole, Natalie and Alexis Lord; two great grandchildren, Clara and John Wothe. Marv is further survived by siblings-in-law, Robert (Shirley) Jacques, Donald (Donna) Jacques, Marjorie Westerhouse, and Shirley Jacques; other relatives and many friends. Marv was preceded in death by his wife Jacquie in January 2020 and one granddaughter, Hailey Riegert. In lieu of flowers, Marv would prefer you honor his memory by making a donation to St. Mary Springs Academy and Holy Family’s Warming Shelter. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac at 12:00 PM. Friends and relatives are welcome to visitation at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum.
