Mary A. Dudley (Herbeck)

Mary A. Dudley (Herbeck), 92, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023. She was born to the late Clarence Herbeck and Estelle Marie Zeutzius.

On February 18th 1950, Mary married her sweetheart Donald Dudley and they had celebrated 70 years of marriage before his passing.

Mary was a hard-working woman who was known through the years for her homemade bread smothered in butter dipped into either chili, chicken noodle or vegetable soup that would find there way into the homes and bellies of her children and grandchildren. She spent many summers at “Dudley’s Dugout” chopping wood, building fires and whatever work she could find needing to be done. She enjoyed gardening and refurbishing furniture for resell. Even as she approached her 80’s she could outwork many with her from dusk to dawn stamina, it was exhausting to watch.

Mary is survived by her six children, Daryl (Ann); Debra (Jim); Dixie (Mike) Everson; Danny (Jammer); Diane (Paul) and Dena (Mike) O’Loughlin; 16 grandchildren, Chris (Katie) Dudley, Mike (Dawn) Dudley, Joe (Brooke) Dudley, Andy (Sarah) Dudley, Holly Dudley, Emily (Morgan) Sapp, Jessica (Craig) Habeck, Miranda (Nate) Mecklenburg, Sarah Everson, Katie (Mike) Kessler, Cortney (Jarred) Birschbach, Jake Dugenske, Chelsey (Dave) Hanna, Alex Goebel, Tanya O’Loughlin and Carmen (Tom) Greicar; 36 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Thompson and Donna Walenski.

Services will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
