Mary Jo Groesbeck

Mary Jo Groesbeck passed peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 17th. Mary joins and will be greeted by her mother Mickey Hoey, father Charles Hoey, brother James Hoey, nephews Jeff Hoey and Jason Seaton, and her niece Jessica Worthey. The foundation of Mary’s life has always been her love of family. Her raucous, infectious laugh is cherished, and will forever brighten our memories.

Mary was born in Fond du Lac on March 10th of 1954, the fourth child of seven siblings. She attended Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac and worked many years at Saputo Cheese, eventually retiring in 2018. Mary gave birth to her beloved daughter, Kathy, in 1972 and delivered her son, Robbie, in 1975. In 1991 Mary married her best friend, Robert Groesbeck, with whom she shared many happy years together.

Mary Jo was a strong, kind, compassionate soul, whose passion was to make sure that her children had everything in their lives, especially her special needs son, Robbie. Mary will forever be thought of and deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sisters Barb Seaton, Debbie (Louie) Karshney, Janet Baguio; brothers Michael (Cindy) Hoey, Patrick Hoey; her daughter Kathy (Bill) Marshall; son Robbie Stoffel; grandchildren Karlie and Austin Young, Logan Marshall; great grandchildren Colt, Nova, and Kora Young; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. It’s our honor to see Mary’s kindness, compassion, and love being expressed throughout everyone fortunate enough to have experienced hers.
