Mary S. Beam
Mary S. Beam, 84, of Fond du Lac, passed away June 13, 2013 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born in Fond du Lac September 4, 1928 a daughter of Norman Gaynor and Winifred (Cochran) Promen.
On October 16, 1948 she married Bill Beam at St. Mary’s Church in Fond du Lac.
Mary worked for many years at St. Agnes Hospital as a Health Unit Coordinator in the Intensive Care Unit and in the Women & Infants Unit. After retiring at age 71 she volunteered at St. Agnes Hospital. She was also a member of Holy Family Parish.
Mary was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her love for “being with people”. She loved spending time with family, and especially enjoyed the family Christmas gatherings. Spending time with her husband Bill and children and grandchildren on their pontoon boat on Green Lake was truly a joy for her, and created many lasting family memories.
Survivors include five daughters; Linda (Kenneth) Becker, Mary (Thomas) Long, Kathy Wollersheim (Jeff Wilson), Jayne (Dennis) Stephany, all of Fond du Lac, and Annie Vis (Wayne Gregor) of Rosendale. There are 12 grandchildren; Angela (Scott) Morman of Akron, Ohio, Kevin (Lisa) Theis of Issaquah, Washington, Michael Theis of Las Vegas, Nevada, Neil Long of Madison, Wisconsin, Beth (Nick) Strauch of Tempe, Arizona, Corrie Wollersheim of Fond du Lac, Kenny (Courtney) Wollersheim of Tempe Arizona, Lisa Stephany of Orlando Florida, Michael Stephany of Fond du Lac, Andrew (Jessica) Vis of Green Lake, Mitchell (Jenna) Vis of Rosendale and Tony Vis (Becky Leibly) of Ripon. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren; Alex Theis, Jessica Morman, Kallie and Kenlie Wollershieim, Tenley Vis and Grady and Griffin Vis; one sister, Ann (Harley) Wild and one brother William (Mary) Promen.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice Hope and the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for the care given to our mother.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 54 years.
Visitation: Family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 3:00 PM until time of service at 4:00 PM.
Service: On Thursday, June 20, A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 4:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place. Private family services will be at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial established in her name.
