Michael E. Zimdahl
Michael E. Zimdahl, 58, of Campbellsport, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at his home. He was born in West Bend on October 19, 1959, the son of Elmer and Christine (Bohlman) Zimdahl, Jr.
On August 8, 1981 he married Shelley Hamernik at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michaels.
Michael worked for Quadgraphics in Press Maintenance for 20+ years and also farmed in the Town of Ashford. He is a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, especially deer and turkey, driving his John Deere tractors and especially his Gator. Each spring he planted trees and developed wildlife habitats. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed the Packers, Gonzaga basketball and watching Brewers baseball with his sons. Most important to him was his family. He supported his children and grandchildren in all their activities including 4-H, tractor pulls, sporting events, dance and concerts. Mike enjoyed music and was one of the first to put together his own cassette “playlist”.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife Shelley, his children Michelle (Richard) Lemke, Matthew (Ashley) Zimdahl, Melissa (John) Hopper, Mallory (Ryan) Elliott, Merrill (Stephanie) Zimdahl and Merrick Zimdahl, his grandchildren; Lauren, Leigha, Landon, Logan, Lincoln, Marie, Bryson, Ada, Hailey, Noah, Dylan, Alyssa, Emmalyn and Delaney, his mother Christine, his siblings Timothy (Rhonda) Zimdahl, James (Kathy) Zimdahl, Susan (Daniel) Boschert and Thomas (Rhonda) Zimdahl, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and his bassett hound, Doc.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Jr., his grandchild Baby Hopper and his father and mother in-law Robert and Patricia Hamernik.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 22nd at 6:00 PM at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 406 E. Main Street, Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer officiate with cremation to follow.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 22nd from 3:00 PM until time of Mass at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Jude Hospital.
