Monica A. Schmitz

Monica Ann
Hassenfuss Schmitz, daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Ford) Hassenfuss, passed
away January 21, 2018 at St. Francis Home at the age of 93.

Monica was a
devoted mother of six children. She was a gifted sewer, had a green thumb and
loved to knit, crochet and bake. She was very proud of her Irish heritage.

When Monica
did have a moment to herself, she loved to read. Monica was very giving of
herself. She was a volunteer at St. Agnes Hospital for 25 years. She will be dearly
missed by her family.

Monica is
survived by her six children; Terry (Nancy), Carolyn (Ron) Betz, Ted (Naomi
Burghardt), Debra (Bob) Evans, Douglas (Mary), Pamela (Kevin) Vizvary; 12
grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Gustave,
and her parents, Monica’s six siblings and a daughter-in-law, Lynn, preceded
her in death.

In honoring
Monica’s wishes, a private family service will be held.

Monica’s
family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at St. Francis Home for their
care and compassion in taking care of their Mother.
