Myrtle R. Sabel
Myrtle R. Sabel, 93, of Fond du Lac, died peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Hospice Home of Hope. She was born in the Town of Empire on October 28, 1929, a daughter of Benjamin and May (Bemis) Moon. On October 29, 1949, Myrtle married Oscar B. Sabel at St. Mary’s Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2003.
Myrtle loved to spend time with family and friends, playing cards, dancing, gambling, bingo, shopping, and most recently watching wrestling. She was a member of the “We Love to Dance Club”, Tops Club, and St. Patrick’s Altar Society.
Survivors include her sons, John (Patty) Sabel, Steve (Deb) Sabel, Bob (Annie) Sabel; daughters, Debbie Sabel (Bill Thyrion) and Susie Tynan; extended family Rich and Penny Behlke; her twelve grandchildren, Brad (Keri) Sabel, Matt (Amanda) Sabel, Tina Cook-Sabel (Adrian Duel), Chris (Sarah) Ramminger, Dena (Jesse) Reed, Adam Sabel, Zack (Haley) Sabel, Haley Sabel, Tom Sabel, Nicole Tynan, Melody Blackhall and Angela (Mike) Hansen; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; four sisters-in-law, Artis Sabel, Agnes Perry, Lois Sabel, and Inez Sabel; two brothers-in-law, Don Sabel and Gordon Sabel; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter-in-law, Sue Sabel; extended family, Ricky and Tina Behlke; three sisters, Hazel Bogus, Ellen Makus, and Lillian Huecker; six brothers, Arthur Moon, Walter Moon, Lyle Moon, Benjamin Moon, Victor Moon, and Lester Moon; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Sabel, Marie Kraus, Gladys Langenfeld, and Nora Sabel; eight brothers-in-law, Harvey Huecker, Gilbert Sabel, Harold Sabel, Richard Sabel, Charles Sabel, Don Perry, Lawrence Kraus, and Jerry Langenfeld.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Hospice Home of Hope are appreciated.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home, beginning at 12:00 PM. Entombment in Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery will follow the service.
