Noel T. Losey

Noel T. Losey passed away on July 16, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 25, 1948 to the late Glen and Celia (Hudson) Losey in Newberry, Michigan.

Noel graduated from Manistique High School in Manistique, MI. He married Ellen Marie Hupfer on July 17, 1971 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.

Noel served in the US Army from 1968 to 1970 during the Vietnam Era. He served in both the United States and Germany.

Noel enjoyed salmon fishing on Lake Michigan, traveling, gardening, canning, recreational boating, scuba diving, softball, deer hunting, gambling, drawing, golfing, cooking for family and friends, and watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions. He was a handyman and enjoyed helping family and friends with whatever they needed.

Noel worked as an assembler at Mercury Marine for over 44 years. He was a member of F.O.E. since 1990 and the Fond du Lac Boating Club.

Noel is survived by his wife Ellen, son Wayne Losey and his children Caleb and Braxton Losey and daughter Dawn (Joel) Hayes and their children Zoe and Maxwell Hayes. He is further survived by in-laws Bette Eyers, Gail Simon, Rod Hupfer, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded by his parents, siblings John Washell, Sally Reynolds, Tyrus Washell and Steve Losey and in-laws Wayne Hupfer, Charles Eyers and Louis Simon.

SERVICES: Noel’s family invites relatives and friends for a Liturgy of the Word Memorial Service on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Zacherl Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.

Ellen wishes to thank her daughter, Dawn, son, Wayne and son-in-law, Joel, as well as hospice nurses Susan, Amanda, Lynn and Erin and sisters-in-law Gail and Bette for taking care of Noel and being a comfort and help to her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
