Norma Garcia

Norma Garcia, 86, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025. She was born January 1, 1939 in Cuba to Octavio and Maria (Rodriguez) Gonzalez.

She migrated from Cuba to Spain in the 70s and from there moved to Miami, Florida. Norma made her way to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in 1991. Norma worked as a seamstress for Custom Faberkin Inc until her retirement. Prior to that, she owned and operated Blanco Driving School in Miami for around 10 years.

Norma was a fabulous cook and a talented seamstress. No one ever left her home hungry. Her greeting was always “Ya comiste?” (Did you eat?) No one made better Cuban food. She made the tastiest pork, even though she was allergic.

Norma loved her children and grandchildren. She was fiercely protective of her family even going as far as cutting up everyone’s meats so there was no possibility of choking.

Norma will be dearly missed by her children Mari (Steve) Stockstad, Tony (Yanuva) Castañeda, Nora B. (Jeff) Dee, Gustavo “Gus” (Nicole) Garcia; grandchildren Jessica (Willie), Rick (Maria Claudia), Norma (Roger), Vanessa (Jonathan), Ana (Matt), Nori, Janet, Garrett, Gavin, and Graham; 10 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; siblings Silvino, Hilda, Ofelia, Gustavo, and Norberto. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and a brother.
