Norma J. Lynch

Norma J. Lynch, 93, left her earthly life and went to meet her loved ones in heaven on Monday, January 16, 2023. She was a resident of St. Francis Terrace/Home for the last four years of her life.

The former Norma Jean Ellingson, was born on December 11, 1929, in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of John Harry and Lesa (Vinge) Ellingson, who farmed in the Decorah area for many years. She graduated from Decorah High School in 1948. On August 24, 1949, she married Donald J. Lynch at Big Canoe Lutheran Church in Decorah, Iowa. In 1954, they moved to Fond du Lac.

Norma was employed by the Fond du Lac School District for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed and was actively involved in her church, Church of Our Saviour in Fond du Lac. Norma enjoyed gardening and delighted in the beautiful flowers that graced her yard. She loved to read, play bridge, golf and in later years travel with her children. Norma also loved family get-togethers and playing games, and once accomplished the rare feat of getting a perfect “29” hand in the game of cribbage. Throughout her life she kept in touch with all her family members whom she loved so much.

Norma was a loving wife, mother, aunt and devoted friend. She was married to Don for 58 years before his passing in 2007. The were blessed with two children: Dan (Patty) Lynch and Jeannie (Dave) Domenget who survive her. Also surviving is her brother Vernon (Sandi) Ellingson of Naples, Florida.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Don, her parents, sisters: Beatrice (Irvin) Iverson and Hazel (Walter) Bigler; and her brother Lester, who was killed in World War II.

VISITATION: The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.

SERVICE: Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, with Rev. Crystal Lee officiating. Cremation has taken place.
