Norman Ruhland

Norman Ruhland, 72, of Fond du Lac, entered eternal life on Monday, January 15th 2024, at ThedaCare in Neenah due to an accidental fall.

Norm was born on July 3, 1951 to Clarence and Ruth Ruhland. He was a 1969 graduate of Mayville High School. On August 17, 1974, he married Martha “Marty” Halter at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.

Norm took great pride working as a supervisor for Waas Boring and Cable for over 35 years.

Norm was respected, loved, and had a positive impact on many. He touched lives with his kindness and humor. He liked to take a simple happening, “expatiate” on it, and make it into a humorous story. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether in his volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul, the Salvation Army, or for a relative or neighbor in need. We counted on him to be our “fix it” man. He enjoyed hosting family Fourth of July parties. His greatest joy was being Papa to his granddaughters.

Norm is survived by his wife Marty; sons Nicholas (Elizabeth) of Green Bay and Ryan (Nikki) of Madison; granddaughters Natalie, Hannah, and Grace; sisters Diane Ruhland of Wautoma, Lois (Todd) Zangl of Colgate; brothers and sisters-in-law Rosie Justman, Mary (Tom) Olsen, Helen (Terry) Zuehlke, Gertie Juknialis, Barb Halter, Lilly Halter, Joe (Debbie) Halter, Patrick (Karen) Halter, Frank (JoAnne) Balthazor and loved nieces and nephews.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law John Juknialis, Eugene Halter, and Curtis Justman.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 22 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way from 10:00am – 12:00pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial by Father Joe Juknialis. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Vincent De Paul of Fond du Lac.
