Oscar P. Schwefel IV

Oscar Paul “Opy” Schwefel IV,
43, of South Byron, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Froedtert Memorial
Hospital.

 

He was born on November 18,
1975, in Fond du Lac, the son of Oscar “Paul” and Elaine E. Schwartz
Schwefel.  On February 14, 2006, he
married Melissa S. Chain, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Brownsville.

 

Opy was a member of Good
Shepherd Lutheran Church. He worked at Quad Graphics for over 20 years.  He was a fun, silly person who was also one
of the most compassionate men that would help anyone who needed it.  He was a gifted musician, writing and playing
rock music for over 20 years.  Opy was a
mentor to the young and old alike.

 

He is survived by his wife
Melissa (Chain) Schwefel of South Byron, his parents, Paul and Elaine Schwefel
of South Byron, his brother, Jason Schwefel of Pipe, his sister Christina
(Paul) Lueck and their children William and twins Benjamin and Silas of Fond du
Lac; his father-in-law, John Chain of Grafton, sister-in-law, Rebecca (Joe) Van
Boxtel and their daughter Eleanor of Madison, and many other family and friends.

 

He is preceded in death by
his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his mother-in-law, Pamela Chain.

 

VISITATION: Friends may call
on Friday, July 19, 2019, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 20, 2019
from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 855 Martin Avenue, Fond
du Lac.

 

FUNERAL: Memorial services
will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church, with Pastor Adam Zimpelmann officiating.  Cremation has taken place.
