Patricia “Pat” (Moss) DuFrane
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Patricia “Pat” (Moss) DuFrane, who departed this world on August 3, 2023. A devoted Catholic, she touched the lives of many through her unwavering faith, kindness, and selflessness. Her legacy of love and compassion will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and the community she served.
Born on June 7, 1936, Pat was the daughter of Lawrence and Josephine Moss. She grew up in Fond du Lac, attended Goodrich High School, and graduated with the class of 1954. On February 8, 1958, she married Robert “Buck” DuFrane, with whom she shared a joyful life filled with travel, attending their daughter’s and grandchildren’s events, and cherished family time.
Pat’s truest joy was being a devoted mother to her four daughters: Sherri (Mark) Stephany, Michele (Mark) Davies, Julie Chapski, and Chris (Gavin) Scudella. Her love knew no bounds, and she took immense pride in supporting and nurturing them throughout their lives. She also welcomed Suzanne Dammen into her heart as a step-daughter.
Beyond her immediate family, Pat was a loving grandmother to Rebecca (Davies) Bolar, Sarah Stephany, Jasen Stephany, Roxine (Chapski) Burrill, Brenton Chapski, Delaney (Scudella) LaScavella, and Noah Scudella. Her love and guidance shone brightly in their lives, and they cherished the memories spent with their beloved grandmother.
Pat’s dedication to family extended to her eight great-grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness. She is survived by her sister, Cheryl Ward, and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert “Buck” DuFrane, and her siblings: Arlene Kennedy, Carlton “Bud” Moss, Sr. Mary Lauren Moss, and Sue Kedinger, and many special in-laws. The memories and love shared with them will forever be treasured.
Throughout her life, Pat worked at various local restaurants, leaving a lasting impression with her warm smile and friendly demeanor. She had a passion for serving others, evident through her volunteer work as a poll worker and her involvement with St. Vincent de Paul, contributing to her community’s betterment.
Her high school friendships were dear to her heart, as they frequently gathered to reminisce and share laughter over card games, celebrating the unbreakable bond of their enduring connections.
During her leisure time, Pat found joy exploring new places with Buck as his co-pilot, creating lasting memories with her family during their adventures. She also enjoyed many facets of the performing arts.
We bid farewell to our dear Pat, finding solace in knowing she has found eternal peace in God’s embrace. May her soul rest in everlasting serenity.
Pat’s family invites friends and relatives to a time of visitation on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place following the visitation at 12:00 PM. Pat will be laid to rest at Calvary Mausoleum at the Chapel of the Risen Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Pat’s name to Sharon S. Richardson’s Community Hospice or any charity of your choice, continuing her legacy of caring for others.
With deepest condolences, The DuFrane Family and Friends
