Richard “Dick” Gregory Laudolff, Sr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard “Dick” Gregory Laudolff, Sr., 81, of The Villages, formerly of Fond du Lac. He passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in Fond du Lac, WI. He was born in Fond du Lac on February 19, 1945, to the late Sylvester and Marguerite Jarkow Laudolff. Dick married the love of his life, Carol Ann Rahmer, on July 16, 1966, at St. Cloud Catholic Church and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. They raised their 5 children in North Fond du Lac.

His career in carpentry started at Kindt Lumber in 1963. From there he worked for Hutter Construction (13 yrs) and Miron Construction (23 yrs). Together he was with the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters’ Union for 36 years. Dick was a member of the Eagles, Knights of Columbus, and Presentation Parish where he served on the parish council.

In 2009 after retiring, Dick and Carol moved to The Villages in FL. There Dick was a member of German Club, Wisconsin Club, Polo Ridge Club, The Villages Woodworking Shop, and St. Timothy’s Parish. He loved to listen to live music at the town squares, golf, play shuffle board, swim, and participate in other community activities. Dick had a love for carpentry and was always doing projects on his house and tinkering in the garage.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carol; five children, Richard Laudolff Jr. (Jennifer); Tammy Smith (Richard), Christine Wells (Zeke), Michelle Hohensee (“Jr.”) and Brian Laudolff (Nicole Herman); his 11 grandchildren, Jordan Laudolff, Noah Laudolff, Sarah Laudolff, Joseph Laudolff, Richard Smith, Katrina Smith, Amber (Clayton) Hartle, Adam Wells, Megan Hohensee, Nathan Hohensee and Giavanna Laudolff; two sisters, Sandra Creek and Margaret Class (John); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Phyllis; his siblings, Barbara Koerner, Sylvester Laudolff, Susan Steffes, Elizabeth Trimble, Jerome Laudolff, Martha Jean Laudolff, Mary Frances Laudolff, Jacob Laudolff, and other relatives.

Dick’s family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Our Risen Savior Catholic Church Woodhull, N6499 Co. Rd. Y, Eldorado, WI 54932. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM. Dick will be laid to rest in the church cemetery following Mass. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Springs Academy, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of your choice.
