Robert “Bob” A. Detert

Robert “Bob” A. Detert, 80, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison due to complications from a fall. He was born November 16, 1944 to the late Virgil and Marilyn (Koepke) Detert.

Bob married Kitty Brockl on July 31, 1975, and remained married until his passing. He was a salesman in publications until his retirement. Bob also owned and operated “Kitty’s Den” in Fond du Lac with his wife, Kitty. Bob enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards and shooting pool. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brother, Dr. Richard Detert. After retirement, Bob enjoyed three days a week at D&D Bar in the morning drinking coffee and playing cards.

Bob is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Kitty; one son Michael (Tamara) Detert, Hartford and one daughter Kathy (Scott) Weber, Marinette; one stepson Charlie Renken, San Diego, California; Two brothers Richard (Ellen) Detert and Randy Detert, La Crosse; Two sisters Bonnie Cardinal, Lamartine and Cindy Wargula, Columbus; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two sons Garry Detert and Rick Detert; Grandparents Clarence Ruben (Nellie Davis) Detert and Jerome (Loretta Hoch) Koepke.

Bob’s family invites relatives and friends for a time of visitation at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
