Robert L. Huelsman

Robert L. Huelsman, 83, of Fond du Lac, died on Monday, July 17, 2023, at his residence. He was born on August 14, 1939, in Gary, IN, the son of Oscar and Doris (Craw) Huelsman. On August 4, 1962, he married Linda Wischnefski at Luther Memorial in Fond du Lac. Robert served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Trathen. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 270, Fond du Lac and the Tin Can Sailors Association. Robert loved telling stories, especially about his time in the Navy. He was a Packer, Brewer, and Badger fan. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling, making model ships, old movies, and WWII history. His greatest love was for his family and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by three children, Scott (Susie), Robert (Melissa), and Jodi Huelsman; eleven grandchildren, Doug (Kim) Huelsman, Bekki Huelsman, Marsha (Reed) Cath, James Czaplicki, Jason (Anna) Lampman, Emily (Joel) Kreuziger, Kristine (fiancé, Matt Olsen) Huelsman, Andrew (Hannah) Huelsman, James (fiancée, Sam Wojnowski) Henkel, Garrett Henkel, and George Henkel; great granddaughter, Reiloni Huelsman; three siblings, Maxine Neas, Ken (Helen) Huelsman, and Nancy Kimpel; sister-in-law, Linda Huelsman; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Doris; wife, Linda; sister, Mary Duck; two brothers-in-law, Bruce Wischnefski and Larry Kimpel; and sister-in-law, Kathy Huelsman.

The visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A time of remembrance will follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will occur at Rienzi Cemetery with military honors.
