Roger R. Sabel

Roger R. Sabel, 84, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Hospice Home of Hope on Friday, June 12, 2026. He was born October 26, 1941 to Roman and Eleanor (Hall) Sabel in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

Roger was united in marriage to Beverly Ziegler on May 17, 1969 at St. John the Baptist in Waunakee, Wisconsin.

Roger worked at Mercury Marine for 40 years, performing many facets of the assembly process. He retired in 2006. Since retirement, Roger found pride and joy in caring for the landscape of Holy Family Parish, maintaining the lawnmowers, mowing the lawn, and overseeing a crew of volunteers. He was a faithful Mass acolyte, sang in the choir at church, and volunteered with Beverly at Broken Bread.

Roger could often be found in his basement workshop, crafting a new wooden project and repairing things for family and friends. He never turned down an opportunity to help someone in need.

Roger will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Beverly; children Dean (Kelli) Sabel and Aaron (Carrie) Sabel; grandchildren Jack, Ben, and Peyton, and Hannah and Ellie; siblings Karen McCarty and Diane Ertle; sister-in-law Barbara (Dan) Roloff; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Arlene Goldberg and Crystal Toneff, and special friend James Hassett.

Roger’s family invites friends and relatives to a time of visitation on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Fond du Lac from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place following the visitation at 11:00 AM.
