Rose G. Peter
Rose G. Peter, age 85, of Chilton, died on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Caring Hands Assisted Living in New Holstein. She was born November 22, 1938 in Charlestown, daughter of the late Carl & Anna (Peter) Grittner.
Bowling was something Rose enjoyed, and it was during one of her favorite past times that she met the Ralph Peter. She was smitten and the couple were united in marriage on May 25, 1968 at St. Killian Catholic Church on the outskirts of Campbellsport.
Most of her working life, Rose dedicated her time to customer service, most notably Regal Ware. With a background in administration, Rose was known for her meticulous records and was able to leave the filing system to those around her.
Raised in the Chilton area, Rose, moved away and spent many years away from her hometown. She had a passion for her family and her hometown, and in recent years moved back to the area where she continued to call Chilton ‘home’.
She was a long time member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton and was always willing to help wherever she could, and whenever asked. Rose was also someone who took great pride in working and accomplishing things with her hands. She crafted many items treasured by family and friends through embroidery and sewing, and went out of her way to make unforgettable meals for family gatherings at Easter. It was these simple moments in life that brought her the most joy; time where family were together to share time and stories together.
Survivors include her nieces & nephews: Ken (Sue Mueller) Moehn, Stephen (Trish) Moehn, Linda (Larry) Engel, Robert (Patty) Moehn; her great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; and her siblings: Florence (Clifford) Moehn & Helen Grittner.
