Russell John Lathrop
Russell John
Lathrop, 46, a resident of Fond du Lac, passed away unexpectedly February 22,
2016 at his home of a cerebral aneurysm.
He was born
December 14, 1969 in Fond du Lac, a son of Dennis and Barbara Brzek Lathrop.
On June 14,
2004 he married Kristine T. Doern at the Little Chapel in the Woods, Waupaca.
Russ
attended Sacred Heart Grade School and was a 1988 graduate of L.P. Goodrich
High School and continued his education at Moraine Park. He was employed by
Mercury Marine for 18 years and most recently was employed by Metal Craft of
West Bend as a supervisor. Russ was a member of the Fond du Lac Yacht Club. He
had a passion for his ever-growing watch collection, motorcycles and anything
that went fast. Russ loved being “Papa Russ” and spending time with his
grandson, Clayton. He was extremely attached to his pets, cats; Eli and Emmy, especially
his dog, Jaxx and could often be found playing with him in the back yard. He
enjoyed boating with friends, vacation trips, ATV rides, bonfires in the back
yard, the treasured time spent with Sebastian in the “Garage” and hanging-out at
the cabin with family and friends. Russ loved to make people laugh, was a
friend to everyone, and truly lived life to the fullest.
Survivors
include his loving wife, Kristine, a step-son, Sebastian Doern of Fond du Lac,
his parents, Dennis and Barb Lathrop of Fond du Lac, his brother, Joe Lathrop
of Madison, a grandson, Clayton of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by his
mother-in-law, Andrea Doern of Fond du Lac, a brother-in-law, Jonathan (Laura)
Doern of Fond du Lac, other relatives and many friends.
He was
preceded in death by his father-in-law, Arlyn Doern, special friends, Joel
Crouch, and recently, Michael Ohrmund.
Visitation: Visitation will be held on Friday
February 26, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Zacherl Funeral Home, Fond du
Lac, followed by Prayers of Committal at 7:00 PM. Cremation will follow
services.
In lieu of
flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to the Fond du Lac Humane
Society or N.E.W. Pawsibilities of Oshkosh.
