Sandy Stephany
Sandy (Sung-Hee Kang) Stephany, 73, passed away on March 31, 2021 peacefully in her sleep at home.
She was born on September 15, 1947 in Haenam, South Jeonla Province South Korea, the daughter of Young-up Kang and You-im Kim. Her family eventually made their way to Seoul where she met her husband and came to Wisconsin.
Sandy was united in marriage to Ronald L. Stephany on September 11, 1974 at St. Joseph’s Church in Fond du Lac. Sandy committed herself to her family as a homemaker and enjoyed sipping her favorite soda on a sunny front porch. She also enjoyed attending family gatherings, traveling to see family in Korea, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a great cook and infamous for her fried chicken, egg rolls, and desserts.
Survivors include her three children, Chris Stephany (Jackie Propson) of Calumetville, Carla Stephany (David Patton) of Pipe, and Carolyn (Brett) Dennler of Bonney Lake, Washington. Sandy has seven grandchildren: Veronica, Noelani, Donovan, Kale, Broderick, Isabella, and Mikiya.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald, daughter Cynthia, her parents, sisters Kui-ryae Kang, In-ae Kang and brother Kyung-Chae Kang, her mother and father-in-law Ralph and Adeline Stephany, and brother-in-law Michael Stephany.
Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 8th from 4:00-7:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 9th at 11:00 AM with 10:00 AM visitation prior to mass at St. John the Baptist Church. Burial at St. John’s Cemetery will follow after mass.
