Shirley Ann Bell-Elsinger

Shirley Ann Bell-Elsinger, age 87, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, December 25, 2023, at Hospice Home of Hope. She was born on July 11, 1936, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Erving and Evelyn (Hankwitz) Schafer. On June 4, 1955, she married Donald E. Bell at Church of Peace in Fond du Lac where she was a lifelong member. They were married for 41 years until his passing. Shirley then married Francis “Buster” Elsinger on September 22, 2001. He passed away on December 26, 2014. Shirley worked at Wells MFG for 23 years. She was a Girl Scout assistant leader at Rosenow School for 3 years. She loved the outdoors and camping at Wild Rose, WI.

She is survived by one son, Ricky (Janet) Bell; one daughter, Cindy (James) Roen; one grandson, Christopher Bell; one granddaughter, Sandra (Troy) Stahmann; three great-grandchildren, David, Donald, and Lorra; two sisters, Nancy (Duane) Luedke and Karen (Charles) Palkovich; brothers-in-law, William (Mary) Bell; Kenneth Omland; Buster’s children, Patricia (Lee) Dorn, Robert (Janet) Elsinger, Brad Elsinger, Fuzzy (Arlin) Bakken; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one infant sister, Sandra; sister, Betty in 1974; sister, Patricia Brester; sister, Darlene Omland; daughter-in-law, Joan; stepsister, Carol Gunderson; stepson, Herky Elsinger; two infant grandchildren, Jason and Lorra Roen.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 2, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Ledgeview Memorial Park. A meal will follow the service at 4:00 PM at the Fond du Lac Eagles Club.
