Shirley Catherine (nee Zieger) Laubenstein
Shirley Catherine (nee Zieger) Laubenstein, 90, of Campbellsport went to her heavenly home on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum. She was born on March 15, 1933 in the Town of Mequon, the daughter of the late Theodore and Alma (nee Schmidt) Zieger. Shirley was a 1951 graduate of Cedarburg High School. On June 5, 1954, Shirley was united in marriage to Howard H. Laubenstein at Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville. She worked at the Thiensville Shoe Factory, for the Kewaskum Lunch Program, Kewaskum Frozen Foods, and then for her husband’s business H. Laubenstein and Son Lawn and Garden for 21 years. Shirley was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Campbellsport, the Ladies Guild, and Dorcas Society. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, painting ceramics, freehand drawing, and was excellent at cooking and baking. Shirley was a fantastic wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years Howard, son John (Jane) Laubenstein, daughter Barbara (Eric) Schmidt, grandchildren Katie (Jon) Dietzen, Shawn (Maria) Laubenstein, Benjamin (Raquel) Schmidt, Aaron (Hollin) Laubenstein, and Hilary (Nathan) Seager, great grandchildren Ryker and Bria Laubenstein, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by brothers Ernst (Ruth) Zieger and Robert (Mabel) Zieger and sisters Laura (Norman) Mathiak, Edna (Roland) Maul, and June (Martin) Gierach.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, January 3rd from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 350 S. Helena St, Campbellsport.
A Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 3rd at 1:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church with a luncheon to follow. Rev. Paul Cerny will officiate and Shirley’s final resting place will be in Lutheran Memorial Park in Kewaskum.
