Silas Corbin Willey
Silas Corbin Willey, 9, of Fond du Lac, passed away on September 29, 2023, at his home with family by his side. He was born on October 31, 2013, the son of Shawn and Lisa (Lensmire) Willey. After being diagnosed with a brain tumor, Silas fought a courageous battle for all of his life. He was a very social child who loved to give hugs and affection to everyone he met. He enjoyed stringing beads, playing with balls, and listening and dancing to music. Those who knew him, have been touched by his personality and smile. He will be truly missed by everyone who encountered him.
He is survived by his parents, Shawn and Lisa; three siblings, Rowan, Abram, and Fiona; paternal grandmother, Gloria Willey; maternal grandparents, Gary and Faye Lensmire; six aunts and uncles; Adam “his godfather” (Tanya) Lensmire, Brenda (Jay) Wall and their children, Simon, Audra, Graham, Elias, and Miles; David (Walna) Lee, Diana Arrowsmith, Doreen (Mark) Bidwell, and Gina (Mark) Anderson; godmother, Kay Mullins; and many additional cousins, great aunts and uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, LaVerne Willey; uncle, Jeffrey Willey; and his great grandparents.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 4 PM – 7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 1225 4th Street, Fond du Lac. The funeral service will follow the visitation on Wednesday at 1:30 PM with burial to follow at Rienzi Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all his therapists, doctors, nurses, and caregivers. The number of people who helped Silas on his journey are too numerous to mention. A special thank you to American Family Childrens Hospital, Madison, WI, for the care and compassion given to him. The family would also like to thank Excel Engineering for all their flexibility and compassion over the years.
