Sister Madeleva Metten
Sister Madeleva Metten, SSSF, 90, passed away Tuesday Dec. 18, 2012 at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport. She was born on Dec. 7, 1922 in Kenosha the daughter of the late Harry F. and Anna Boerner Metten. Sister joined the School Sisters of St. Francis on June 13, 1940 and professed her vows on June 21, 1942. She received a Bachelor Degree from Alverno College and a Master of Arts Degree from Loyola University. Sister served her community as a teacher at various community missions mainly in the Kenosha area. Sister Madeleva is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families and the School Sisters of St. Francis Community with whom she shared her life for 72 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Anita, Harry and Donald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Dec. 21st at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Convent, 526 Mill St. Campbellsport. Burial will follow in Sisters Cemetery, Campbellsport. Visitation and wake service will begin at 9:00 AM Friday Dec. 21st at St. Joseph Convent.
