Susan Brandt
On 2/8/25, treasured friend and loved mother, Susan Brandt, aged 72, passed away at home. She was born 8/25/52 in Wausau Wisconsin, to Wilbert and Mathilda Hammler. She married the love of her life on Valentines Day and they were looking forward to celebrating 40 years together. Jerry preceded her in death on 6/4/24, so they were still able to spend their anniversary together.
Sue grew up in Chicago and pursued a career in the medical field. She loved working in that environment and said she felt that she was doing something worthwhile and had the opportunity to help people. She was known for her funny, kind and thoughtful nature. She was a person that remembered special events or details about you that made you feel special, and her absence is deeply felt.
She loved the water, feeling at peace in nature by a lake or on the beach. She loved to travel, it didn’t matter where, and she was always excited to see something new or try a new restaurant. She was also a lover of animals, from tiny turtles in her childhood to cats and dogs. Most of all, she was a fantastic listener and had the best sense of humor and a laugh that will be missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Allison. In lieu of flowers her family would ask anyone that knew Susan to try and spread some good in the world. Do one random act of kindness for someone, let them know they matter, and maybe bit by bit we can make the world she left behind a better place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
