Susan Mary (Schmitz) Freund

Susan Mary (Schmitz) Freund, 57 of St. Peter, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born October 24, 1966 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Gerald and Bernice (Bertram) Schmitz. She graduated from Goodrich High School in 1985.

Sue made lifelong friends playing softball with the St. Peter Tigers. In her adult years she enjoyed going to plays, fishing, playing cards, and gardening. She loved the Brewers and Bucks and almost never missed watching a game. She is going to be greatly missed by her parents, siblings, children, grandchildren, and friends.

Sue is survived by her parents, Gerry & Bernice Schmitz; her children, Ashley Freund, Joshua Freund and Nicole (Nathan) Meyer; grandchildren, Rylie, Rowan, and Miranda; siblings, Ronald (Pamela) Schmitz and Katherine (Larry) Dikeman.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Monday from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, August 19, 2024 at St. Peter Church in St. Peter. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Fond du Lac Theater in Susan’s name.
