Theresa S. Schaefer
Theresa Sophie Schaefer, age 92, of Chilton, died on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Century Ridge in Chilton. She was born October 15, 1925 in Marytown, daughter of the late Joseph & Claire (Casper) Meier. Theresa married Donald A. Schaefer on June 26, 1947 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marytown; he preceded her in death on September 4, 2014.
Theresa’s faith was of utmost importance to her throughout her entire life. She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly Holy Trinity Parish in Jericho.
During her working years, Theresa kept the books for Don’s trucking business, Don Schaefer Trucking. This quiet and caring woman dedicated her entire life to the care of her family and the raising of her children. With family first in her life, Theresa looked forward to every opportunity she could spend with them whether it was at the family cottage in Crivitz, playing a game of Sheepshead or Bridge, or sitting down for a home cooked meal. In her free time, Theresa put her creativity to good use creating warm quilts and soft afghans for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Dave (Miriam) Schaefer, Joan (Don) Rowan, Mary (Mark) Ortmayer, Daniel (Linda) Schaefer, Lois Schaefer; a daughter-in-law: Jane Schaefer; a son-in-law: Glen Beiser; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She is further survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Donald; a son: Michael Schaefer; a daughter: Patricia Beiser; a grandchild: Chad Schaefer; and her 4 brothers: Elmer, Bob, John & Alphonse Meier.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Jericho. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, November 11, 2017.
A memorial fund has been established in the name of Theresa S. Schaefer.
