William “Bill” August Schellpfeffer

William “Bill” August Schellpfeffer, of Fond du Lac, WI, was born to eternal life on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the age of 81. He was surrounded by his family after a courageous 11-year battle with cancer.

Bill was born in Mayville, WI, to Alfred and Marguerite Schellpfeffer. He was a graduate of Mayville High School. Bill married his wife Donna Mae (Aulenbacher) on May 29, 1962. He received his teaching degree from Dodge County Teacher College and Bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. Bill went on to teach in Somers, WI and then spent 33 years working with special needs adults at Southern Center in Union Grove, WI.

Bill was an avid sports fan: watching, participating, coaching, and refereeing. Bill coached in the Burlington Little League program for 35 years starting when his two sons came to the league. Bill loved spending time with family and got the most pleasure traveling to sports events to watch his own kids participate as well as later his grandkids. Later in life, Bill could always be found with a book next to his side and his cheat sheet to predict his next draft for fantasy football.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Donna; daughter Sheila Schellpeffer of Wiesbaden, Germany; son Scott (Mary) Schellpfeffer of Beverly Hills, MI; son Shawn (Liza) Schellpfeffer of Orlando, FL; daughter Stacie (Mark) Van Ermen of Cedarburg, WI, and daughter Shannon (James) LaLuzerne of Fond du Lac, WI. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Sara, Elise, Brooke, Brett, Julia, Emily, Claire, Courtney, and Lily Mae.

We wish to extend our gratitude to Dr. Syed Haider at Aurora Cancer Center, Dr. Robert Taylor at St. Luke’s Vince Lombardi Center, Dr. Stephen Medlin at St. Luke’s Vince Lombardi Center, and Dr. Binod Dhakal at Froedtert Grace Cancer Center for the care and fight you gave him all these years.

In our loss, we wish to thank the 5th floor staff at St. Agnes Hospital for the tenderness and compassion shown to our family as we said goodbye.

A private Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.

Memorials can be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Wauwatosa, WI (https://rmhc-easternwi.org/how-to-help/donate/) in Bill’s name.

The Schellpfeffer family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, cards, flowers, and support.
