William H. “Billy” McEssy II
William H. “Billy” McEssy II, 60, died on September 24, 2025 at his home in Florida. He was born April 9, 1965 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to William H. and Lois (LaMantia) McEssy. He spent the first 15 years of his life in Fond du Lac until moving to Illinois and graduating from Lake Forest High School.
Billy was always working on his next big plan. After graduating high school he fell in love with the mountains and moved to Vail, Colorado. He came back to Illinois for a few years, until he moved to southern Florida and made that his forever home. Billy spent the last 18 years in the home he loved in Stuart, FL.
Billy was the owner of Bill’s Pressure Wash and an active member of the Stuart Moose Lodge 1282 for many years. He loved working out, going to the beach, playing with his dog, practicing his golf swing and hanging out most every morning with his group of friends at the local gym. He was an avid sports fan and rooted for many teams, especially the Chicago Cubs and Indy car racing.
Billy was a funny man and loved not only to laugh, but to make others laugh too. He was always making jokes and tried to find humor wherever he could. You had to always be on your guard for the next practical joke or prank that he had up his sleeve, and he’d laugh as hard as you would when it went off without a hitch. He was a kind and gentle soul who had a soft spot in his heart for golden retrievers. He lost his beloved dog Indy three years ago, but was enjoying life with Buddy, his two-year-old puppy that he loved very much.
Billy will be dearly missed by his parents William and Lois; sisters Cheri McEssy and Amy (John) Davidson; niece and goddaughter Ali, niece Margaret, and nephew Arthur John “AJ”.
A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Name Cathedral, 735 N State St, Chicago, IL on October 11th at 1:30pm
Inurnment will take place at a later date at Calvary Mausoleum in Fond du Lac, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 1282, 2454 SE Indian St, Stuart, FL 34997. Billy loved his Moose Lodge family and would be happy to know their efforts will carry on from memorials in his name. Visit www.zacherlfuneralhome.com to send condolences.
