Officers Involved In FDL Squad Crash Back On The Job
After reviewing a report from the State Patrol the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s office determined no criminal charges were warranted in a traffic crash involving two Fond du Lac City Police cars last November 1st. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says the matter was handled administratively by their department and Officers Melissa Sprangers and Kristen Kachelmeier recovered from their injuries and have returned to work. The two officers were responding to a call for emergency assistance from other officers when the crash occurred at the intersection of Macy and Western. The initial call involved two women who were fighting in the area of 9th and Main. Others watching the fight began advancing towards the officers who were trying to break it up. A 19-year-old woman was arrested for obstructing and resisting, and disorderly conduct during the call.
