Oklahoma Tornado Update

As the recovery effort continues in Oklahoma in the aftermath of Monday’s devastating tornado, area law enforcement are doing their best to balance their jobs with their own family in the recovery efforts.  Captain George Brown of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol told KFIZ many of those on the scene have family and friends who died or were injured in Monday’s tornado.  On Tuesday Brown said that even though they went through a massive tornado on May 3rd in 1999 it doesn’t diminish the fact that this is a traumatic event that saw children, adults and senior citizens lose their lives.  He says that many public workers, fire fighters, and EMS are exhausted but don’t want to leave the scene while the rescue and recovery efforts continue. Captain Brown says the best way for people in the Fond du Lac area to help them is through our local Red Cross or also via the internet at www.safeandwell.org   We’ll air the complete interview with Captain Brown at 8:10am Wednesday morning on KFIZ.
