One dead in Oshkosh from an officer involved shooting after double stabbing

The city of Oshkosh Police are working to determine what lead to a man stabbing at least two people Tuesday night, December 10, 2024, in the 400 block of west 10th Avenue.

Shortly after 11 PM, The Winnebago County Communications Center received a frantic 911 call from someone that stated someone was just stabbed. Upon arrival, officers found one female with stab wounds on the front porch of 433 West 10th. At that time police learned that the stabbing occurred next door at 437 West 10th and that the suspect and another victim were still in the house. It was also learned who the suspect was and police had indicated they have had prior calls at this address with the suspect.

With the knowledge of another victim still in the house, police made the decision to make an immediate entry to the house.

At 11:20 an officer stated that officers fired shots in the house. A second female stabbing victim was found in the house and the male suspect was reported shot by police with them doing CPR on him.

The officer involved shooting is being investigated by the Wisconsin Division of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation.
