One dead, one injured in Sheboygan shooting and stabbing
Police in Sheboygan are investigating two unrelated major incidents from over the weekend.
On Friday evening, July 5, 2024, a man stabbed his roommate in the stomach, leading to an hours long standoff and eventually the death of the man who was stabbed.
officers responded to the residence in the 1700 block of South 25th Street shortly before 6 p.m. for the stabbing, and though they were able to get the man to the hospital right away, he died from his injuries.
The suspect remained barricaded in the house refusing to listen to police commands to surrender so they broke the door down using an armored vehicle and a bettering ram. The suspect then surrendered with no further incident and was taken into custody where police say he was charged with first degree intentional homicide.
A couple hours later Sheboygan Police responded to a shooting that happened near 10th and Michigan.
In that incident, police say a 32-year-old man shot a family member during an argument and fled the scene.
Jalen Ringel is described as a black male, 6′01 tall, and approximately 200 pounds. Ringel is believed to be in possession of a handgun.
The person that was shot was transported to a Milwaukee hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
