One dead, two seriously hurt in area motorcycle crashes

Sheboygan County officials responded to two serious motorcycle crashes over the holiday weekend, both in the northeast part of their county.

At 4:20 a.m., Saturday,, July 4, 2026, the Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a crash at Lakeshore Road and County Road MM. Investigation into that crash showed a man was riding a motorcycle northbound on Lakeshore Road when he lost control and went into a west-side ditch.

Life-saving measures were attempted, but the rider, a 40-year-old Sheboygan man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

Then Sunday night, just before 9:30, on Highway 42, two people were injured in a single motorcycle crash.

Calls into the dispatch center reported the crash near Werthmann Lane, southeast of Howards Grove.

On scene, officers reported the two had severe injuries and a medical helicopter was requested at the scene.

Highway 42 was closed for two hours while crews worked the scene.

No other information is known in that crash.
